Meet Mau Quiros, the multi-talented musician, filmmaker, and producer hailing from Costa Rica and currently based in New York City. Mau’s journey began at the age of 17 when he won a composing contest held by the Costa Rica Symphony Orchestra. Later on, he earned a full scholarship to study Jazz Piano in Miami, and since then, he has taken the world by storm with his artistry.

Mau’s creative talent has been recognized with several artist residencies at prestigious institutions such as the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia, BRIC in Brooklyn NY, Bacio del Lupo in Umbria, Italy, and Soundview Greenport as part of the Joe’s Pub Artist Residency in New York. Mau has also composed for the Contemporary Youth Orchestra of Cleveland, where he arranged and composed symphonic music for Ben Folds and Graham Nash.

Apart from his classical work, Mau also performs with several ensembles such as The Oblivion Project, which performs the music of Astor Piazzolla, and other jazz ensembles from New York City. He also tours around the world as the Musical Director for Huey Dunbar and keyboardist for hugely popular music acts like Daddy Yankee, Manuel Turizo, and more.

Mau is also an accomplished producer in the studio, having worked and produced for artists like Armando Manzanero, Obie Bermudez, Tony Succar, and many others.

In March 2018, Mau performed his original compositions and arrangements with the Moscow Chamber Orchestra at the prestigious Tchaikovsky Hall, marking his second State Department tour. He has also toured Russia twice performing his own compositions for a month as part of a USA State Department tour.

In addition to his impressive musical accomplishments, Mau has become an accomplished filmmaker, combining music, photography, and film to create cohesive, dynamic and cinematic experiences. As a filmmaker, Mau is focused on a narrative that is derived from a process that is more about chemistry than it is about people, and more about discovery than just creating.

Mau has directed several short films that combine music and visual poetry and has also shot, produced and edited many commercials and documentary pieces for major brands like Samsung, Google, Coca Cola, Pizza Hut and Ciroc, featuring prominent figures like Clive Davies, DJ Khaled, Mike Tyson and Puff Daddy, among others.

In 2021, Mau joined the production of the new film, Once within a time, for acclaimed director Godfrey Reggio, as an editor, camera operator and musical composer. Quiros' versatility and creativity continue to inspire and entertain audiences worldwide.

Mau’s talents are unique in that he is able to execute every component of a project at the highest level: writing, composing and performing the musical soundtrack, shooting film & video, post production and complete final editing. His cinematic style evokes a strong emotion from the viewer, regardless of the project.
